Question About a Future Buy
To own a supra of any generation is something I have been passionate about doing since i could drive. So when I found this craiglist ad i became a giddy little girl.
http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/2922377849.html now, it says it needs to reset the head and gasket and replace with arp bolts. how hard is it to do that? and how expensive? |
depends on the condition of the block.. if any serious milling is needed then prices could get costly.. talking less then a grand in shop fee's.
You should be wary of purchasing something with reported blown headgasket. Allot of unknowns. How far did they take it like that? what other damage resorted from it.. If all checks out the procedure will take you a day or 3 like me.. prices for the gasket / studs / lube is relatively cheap. Also bolts are fine, studs are beefier tho. eddit after looking at the listing. body is close to perfect lol yea, if flat black covering god knows how much bondo work with no moldings to speak of is considered "close to perfect." Id offer him 600 for it.. thats a steal. Seems he did none of the engine work himself, so he can't honestly say what it needs. 750 would probably be as high as I went for a shell. but if all is on the up n up.. 1k is a decent price. |
