Pre 89 Spoiler Questions
Hey guys,
Alright so its finally come time for me to address these F-Ing holes in my hatch. im going to assume there for the stock spoiler, however when i look at pics online of a pre 89 spoiler i cant tell if my holes match up or if someone put some mexican cheap wing on, Heres a picture even though its kinda hard to make out the holes. Anyone have a good picture of the spoiler mounts ? or perhaps if/when you took it off? |

No, those are not for the stock spoiler. The stock spoiler had three legs and thus two holes in the middle plus another for the wiring to the third brake light. The legs are also much fatter than those which appear to have been on the wing which was mounted there.... probably a wing from a small Mazda, Honda or Ford Escort.

The holes look too far to center for an 89+ spoiler to cover.

Anybody have a good picture of a pre 89 wing and the mounting spots? May have to do that, only wings I like are stock and I need to do something quick. Im getting water in there. Im not sure if I could tact some sheet metal in there and bondo the rest to seal them. I honestly don't mind having no spoiler, just the holes are starting to get annoying.

It's become a sad time when innocent license plates can't be displayed in public anymore without some gremlin spray painting over them.
