my gauges r screwed!!
Hey wats up i have had aftermarket gauge cluster pretty much ever since i have had the car ( about a year) and a little while back all my gauges went crazy! They are all screwed up the speedo dont work, the gas gauge will only go to half a tank, the boost gauge is on -6 till i redline then it shoots up to 6, temp always on hot, oil pressure is messed up, but the tach works perfect anyways my ques is me and a friend took the cluster out and checked it out the wiring looks fine we think the needles went bad if so can i replace the needles or do i have to get a new cluster and how would i know for sure if it is the needles????

i dont think its the needles...though i may be wrong...imma still go wit the assumption that its electrical...even though u say the wiring is wrong..did u check the connections? make sure everything is tight and there are no frayed wires...which i assume there are none since u checked the wiring..make sure all the connections are tight

i would focus on one problem at a time, first the fuel gauge, take the sending unit out of the tank from the top inside the car under the rear carpet toyo was smart and put in an access door for us. 3 screwes on the cover and 3 or 6, 10 mil bolts for the sending unit. pull it out carefully and manually move it full range while someone watches the gauges with the key on. mine had varnish built up on the reistate wireing wrap that the float arm rubs against. once i carefully scrapped the varnish off, the arm made contact with metal again. 2 years now and it still works fine. make sure the float is still sealed with air and (floats) and not half full of fuel. see if that fixes one issue? and go from there...
