Noob with some questions
 

hey i guys i bought a 1989 mk3 7mgte from my brother. he bought it with a blown head gasket a few years ago fixed it then life happened and it sat in our garage for a couple of years.

a couple months ago i decided i wanted to get a track car so i bought it and have done some work to it but it is having a fuel cut problem. i installed a 2.5" straight pipe from the turbo to the back of the car, but whenever it gets around 3k revs it starts cutting out.
is this an injector problem, a fuel pump problem or something else

Start by checking for diagnostic error codes. The process is covered in the FAQ section. If the battery has been dead or disconnected you may need to run the car for a little while before any error conditions are logged again. Most codes require that the vehicle be driven under varying conditions and in some cases a number of occurrences must be noted before a code is logged by the ECU.
