Default Looking for your opinions.

So I had this 7mge listed on Craigslist from an 87 NA partout. It was listed as a complete running 7mge with a bad HG for 175 with all accessories included. So I get a call from a guy interested in it who says his GE has rod knock. But he only needs the block and head so I said he could have it for 100. But he would have to remove the all the accessories himself. So he comes over removes all of it off the motor and has about an hour and a half of time to also examine the motor while he took it apart. Then this evening he calls me and say the motor is trash and wants his money back because the block is cracked and it is filled with stop leak.

Keeping in mind he got for a $100: a head and block still worth at least scrap price
a good crank
cams
drive pulley
good shape timing belt cover
flywheel
injectors

Motor is obviously sold as is. It is Craigslist after all.

What is your opinion on this?

This is where I dust off the photographs of the serial number and all other unique identifying marks on the items in question and tell him that I just need to compare it to the photos when he brings it back and I'll refund his money. Now if he took the engine a month ago... well, he can get stuffed.

Well I ended up buying it back for 60. The head and block are going for scrap but the crank is in nice condition, only in need of a polish. Anyone need a 7m crank?
