Need help with 86.5, 7M-GE. Won't start right away, has power, does turn over.
Hello !
So in the morning or even when I let my car sit for more then 4 hours , I go in and turn the key to start , it will try to start but no luck ... I have to do that about 3-4 times before it actually starts to gain rpms , then usually it will fail 1-2 times before it actually climbs to 2 thousand then falls to 1 thousand then back up to 2 thousand then down to 1 thousand and Im ready to go .... Does anyone out there know what may be wrong so I can take it to a mechanic and get it fixed ?? Anything will be muchly appreciated

follow the instructions and check for error codes:
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...aspx?S=FI&P=22 check your timing: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...aspx?S=IG&P=10 try cleaning your cold start injector: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...aspx?S=FI&P=50 use something sensor safe... possible fuel filter clog even?? check for codes, check timing advance, check cold start injector, report back with error codes.

There are other possible faults here, I have had a similar problem in the past with my 7M NA, hard to start, hunting when idling but once running ok. While hot no problem restarting either but leave it a few hours problem returned. Turned out that the spark plug leeds were foobared. I replaced the leeds, distributor arm and cap. Solved the problem.
My local Mr.T shop told me it was a BHG.
