Aftermarket Tail lights??

I have been searching for a while now, and I cant seem to find any aftermarket tail lights for my 86.5 supra non-turbo. I cant find any euro lights or anything. And I think i would have to do a conversion to get the turbo lights, since the whole back is different. Im not sure.

does anyone know a place online or something that sells afermarket/euro lights for my car? Cuz im sick of the stock ones.

supra_91 10-11-2005 01:23 PM

nobody makes any that i know of

there was one guy that converted MKIV taillights in a MKIII

http://www.suprastore.com/yo88sutusaca.html

Moonraker 10-12-2005 12:22 AM

Nope.

Converting those lights means doing major reworking of the mounting bracket in behind those lights...plus the hook ups. It took major mods to get that done and make it look right. The only thing I've seen is a few people have done some tinting or painting on those lenses. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Dejvid1785 10-12-2005 02:09 AM

Does anybody know how to tint or paint the headlights to give it that darker look?

kewlcoconut 10-12-2005 09:34 AM

darn. looks like there is no hope for the ugly stock lights.:(

SupraMan1784 10-12-2005 02:07 PM

i like my stock lights....its classy

suprra_girl 10-14-2005 01:13 AM

86 lights can be upgraded to 89+

jdm supras have darker tinted tailights... can be found on ebay

and there is a company that does aftermarket ones... they use led's instead and are clear but damnnnnnnnnn they're fugly and they want like $1000usd for em ;)

Moonraker 10-14-2005 01:18 AM

Euro taillights are for ricers... Youre not a ricer are you? Upgrade to the better looking 89+ tail lights.

Skyline Lights

I just bought a 2nd supra from KY and it has Nissan R34 Skyline tail lights on it. All the remolding was done with bondo, so it doesnt look all that good. But i plan of making a metal conversion peice to make the lines of the rear end look a lot better.

newbsupra 08-10-2006 01:21 AM

can u get some pics?

lambo's got euro lights, are they considered ricers?

but my taillight has a crack on it, i have no choice but to bondo and paint over it, hoperfully it will look good

newbsupra 08-10-2006 05:55 AM

yea.. i really dont see how there considered "ricer".. like we do see them alot on ricers.. but i think they look pretty sweet actually. kind of like the concept of the clear corners? right?

I thought Europe and US rear lights where the same, the only ones that where different where the Jap imports. The first photo is what I believe to be a Jap import, the second is an Europe modified rear light.

here we go again

ur from uk right? i would assume you guys have these cars there too
there's a thread by the way in the off topic forum area

but here's a few clue on how to spot a ricer
if a cars weighs more than it came from the factory bcuz of extrior mods
its a ricer

if a car has a four inch exhaust, and it naturally aspirated
its a ricer

if a car has a boieng 747 wing on the back, while being fwd
its a ricer

if the owner spent 10,000 dollars on a car and it does 16's on a 1/4 mile
its a ricer

if the owner paid more for rims than the value of his car
its a ricer (or in this case its ghetto)

if a car has more than two batteries, jus to make his car shine like the sun
its a ricer

need i go more?

Well thanks for that, completely bog standard apart from waist gate shimmed,
de cat and small mod to instrument panel .Supranatural you could call it.
Just stripped the engine out for re bore (big end seized), any recommended suppliers for pistons, rods and shells in the US. The UK prices are twice that of US.

Many thanks for welcome !

R34 Skyline tail lights molded on a 87 turbo.

Supra2NR 09-07-2006 06:08 AM

looks agressive, but jus somewhat odd
taillights dosent match the body curves of the car

i jus can get my mind wrapped around what makes it look odd

or maybe its jus me

jfunez 09-08-2006 02:29 AM

its probably the crappy rear bumper..

burton51m 09-08-2006 02:52 AM

i like it, but the car is shitty so you cant get a good feel for it.

i only think i like it cuz i just like the tail lights
i like the skyline tailights

now if they could make it so the the tail lights were flat across the body(in the body of the car) and not sticking out then that would be nice and would flow with the body...

like this

gorillaguy8 09-08-2006 03:31 AM

yeah, we accidently ripped that bumper cover apart getting it off the trailer. But it was gunna go anyway

newbsupra 09-08-2006 03:58 AM

i think they look sweet.. and i dont care for that body kit.. but thats my opinion. i think with a bit more work, they'll fit right in and make it look real mean.
