JDM 7MGE swap
Hey Supra Forums!
So I have a 1986.5 Supra N/A and the engine (7mge) has to go ... So I am now looking for jdm engine sites and checking out the engines. I think TorontoJDM would be the best for me, has anybody heard about them before and if they sell decent engines? And also my main question is when I do the swap will I have to change anything besides the engine ? Anything would be great full to me and my mechanic! Thanks a ton !!

You should see if those sites/providers are BBB accredited. And the only online JDM provider I know and bought from was http://www.jdmenginezone.com/
Good prices and communication, from my experience. Hope this helps!

No engine of this age is worth snot for dropping right in. They all need rebuilt whether they've been sitting on a pier for 5 years rusting (JDM) or have high mileage but have been in service until recently (locally sourced). I wouldn't bother with JDM if you're just going off the 'wisdom' of the masses unless you can't find one locally to work with.
We have a few Canadian members I would try to track a couple of them down to see who they recommend in your area. Our moderator CanadianBak'inSupra is frequently found in the MKII section, perhaps send him a PM.

Yeah cre has point. With any JDM engines of these ages are going to need a lot of work. So it's a gamble either way

The one good point of jdm is that you are supposedly starting with a low mileage engine instead of the typical usdm 7mge s with 150k plus on them. But for the price of a jdm I would rather have a rebuild done on my old motor by a good machine shop.
