Hi again , I found this on the Mk3 TRSM website for the 7M-GE:

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...aspx?S=EM&P=32

This looks like a shim ? , not sure , only worked on my 7MGTE , hope it helps . The adjusting shims should be between the cam and top of the bucket , never seen these rings on any engine before .

See : http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...aspx?S=EM&P=10 for position .

I'm lost ! do you think the previous owner put them there ? cannot think of any reason for them , Question? out of interest ? -why are you overhauling the head ? .

Yup! Man, if I had a nickel for every time I found those just shoved in some other location by an ignorant owner/mechanic.... well, I'd have about $.50 but nonetheless that's $.50 too much.

OMFG WOW lol i did not even think this kid before me got this far in effing up my car. unplugged sensors, cut wires and bad wiring, removing the brackets to remove the engine (real pain getting it out the way i did) you think that made a different in performance??

Im rebuilding the bottom end because of spun rod bearing, shown in the link at the bottom, and im getting everything cleaned and resurfaced and going most of the work brings the price down
