Are Titan MHG's reusable?
Alright so I bought a Titan MHG and was working on the 7M-GTE today. I sprayed the copper spray on the HG and put the head on. I started torquing everything down and all was well until the torque wrench started acting funny. So I undid everything after I had some of the bolts at around 70-90 foot pounds because then it was really bad. I took the head off again and now have to clean that and the block. Now the MHG was never exposed to any amount of heat other than that of the air outside. Is it still going to be ok to use? I am just wondering if the fact that it was already torqued will affect its effectiveness or if its only if its exposed to the engine heat that you cant reuse it....

It'll be fine but the copper spray may have been a very bad idea. The solvents used in most headgasket dressings distort the viton coating which comes standard on most metal head gaskets. It'll bubble and no longer adhere to the HG. If you ever need to use a dressing use a solvent free dressing such as Hylomar green or blue (labeled as Permatex Hylomar Free or Permatex Hylomar Original in some areas, IIRC).

So should i just clean the gasket then? And should I reapply the copper spray anyway?

I'd clean it as well as you can and then use a solvent free dressing. If your copper spray says it's compatible with viton coated HGs then go for it, if not I'd use Hylomar.

Ok. One more question....How much are we allowed to take off the head? Right now there's .011 off from the first time. I want to get in machined again because the other head gasket I initially put in what looks like "teeth" marks on the surface.....so I'm thinking better safe than sorry? Btw I bought the 1.4mm Titan Gasket and I already have .006mm off the block/rear time cover. Just figured I'd give more info. Also I chased the block threads with just one of my old head bolts. Is that ok or do I need a tap? And what should I use as far as lube goes for the bolts? Just motor oil? The stuff that came with my ARP bolts we used the first time. The instructions also say to torque to 90ft pounds.

Lube the bolts with a quality, molybdenum grease. As for the pits, how long was the composite gasket in place and did the gasket's reinforcement rings leave impressions around the cylinder bores and oil and coolant jackets?
If 1) there are no impressions 2)and the bores do not have impressions 3)AND the block measures as still flat and true with a machinist straight edge 4)and the teeth marks are all outside of the contact area of the new HG's reinforcement rings then you should be completely safe to just give the block a very good lapping with a precision lapping plate and finer and finer grade diamond lapping compounds. This doesn't remove too much material and results in a very fine finish.
