Stock muffler
Right now my 1988 NA has some Flowmaster muffler on it. It is a bit loud for my tastes and I would prefer a stock one. The only problem is that the OEM one is discontinued.
Any advice as to which aftermarket muffler will produce the sound closest to stock? Thank you! |

Honestly, if you want the sound of the stock setup I'd see if I could find someone who has one in good shape and wants to trade. Also a dual outlet muffler will be a little quieter than a single outlet... but it's not enough to split hairs over in my opinion.
You could also look into getting something put together using the components from a similar vehicle's stock exhaust... any other 3 liter n/a engine.

Check to see if your resonator is still in place as well as the cat. They both play a huge part in reducing exhaust noise.
