I would just swap in the 100A or 110A alternator from the MKII MR-2 with electric power steering and call it a day. You just need to swap the drive pulley. They're more than enough for mildly aggressive setups, cheaper, easier to find replacements, rebuildable with parts from NAPA and so on.
