Is this a Turbo or non-Turbo head?
I bought a 7M cylinder head from someone who had gotten it form someone who bought an engine from Tiger Imports in Canada. I noiticed that it had a EGR cooler. I thought that JDM heads did not have one. Could it be a Canada import head? It also it has an extra stud on the intake side next to the valve cover between the 4th and 5th cylinders and a extra stud on the exhaust side foward of the front throttle bracket stud. On my US 7M-GTE both those are just threaded holes. Is this a non-turbo head? Is there an easy way to tell
by the camshafts? I have both types. Last edited by Bru; 03-25-2014 at 03:26 PM. |

The dimensions of the intake cam are different from the GE to the GTE, but the exhaust cam and the heads themselves are pretty much the same IIRC. The GE intake cam is engineered for higher compression than the GTE.
And you're correct that JDM engines don't use the EGR. |
