1989 Supra - 7mge

I got a 1989 Supra now. I ended up with it because my friend borrowed money from me to buy the car, but couldn't/wouldn't pay me back. It had a blown head gasket when he got it, but it did start up and we heard it run. He did that work himself, I'm a little worried about that, haha. But he also did the egr/canister delete.. As well as he got rid of the 25719 tank "vacuum surge" with maybe a few other things.. I don't know if those can be taken out or not? And if not, will that stop the car from running/starting? Also, how can I disable and/or check if the alarm is stopping the car from starting?
Any help would really be appreciated a lot! I lost my job a couple of weeks ago and I really need this car running so I can go out and get another one, it's the closest one I have to running.
