Diagnostic wont make my antilock light blink
Hello members, 88 7mgte 130k.
My anti lock light stays on and the TEMS doesn't work. Wont light up or switch modes I followed the brake diagnostic unplugging next to the actuator and key on but the light doesn't blink at all. I also tried the Tc E1 jumper, in the diagnostic box in the engine bay and no blinking. What am I doing wrong? I can handle no ABS but I want to switch to sport mode.

If your jumpering the diagnostic block as described with the key in the ON position just before cranking then you should have a constantly blinking in engine trouble light indicating no codes or it will blink in the codes that are stored. This is assuming that the engine trouble light is not burned out which is very uncommon. Have you had the dash gauge cluster out? To clear codes remove the EFI fuse in the engine Bay fuse box for 30 seconds. My suggestion would be to put the key in the ON position before cranking and make sure you're getting the proper contact in the engine diagnostic block. You could get someone to sit and the seat while you're attempting the contact in the diagnostic block.

Antilock light dilema ends, Tail light sensor
Thanks again to this forum for helping.
I finally correctly jumped the diagnostic block and found 0 codes about my antilock light staying on and disableing my TEMS and cruise control. On to another issue, I will get back to this one, NO FLIPPIN BRAKE LIGHTS NOW. The light out warning light on my dash is on. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I remove all the plastic and rear seat to chase the wires from the door sill to the tail lights. No frays and I have power up to the tail lamp failure sensor box mounted below the drivers side tail light. I press on the connection and my. brake lights work again. Anti lock light still on though. Out driving and the lamp out signal comes on again. Wiggling the connection at the box doesnt work. I find a write up about how that sensor box stops working because of its location to possible water dripping in. It says how to bypass the box by splicing wires. TAIL LIGHT bypass connect green and the green with red stripe before the box BRAKE LIGHT BYPASS conect green w/ white stripe to red w/ blue stripe. SET THE BOX ON YOUR SHELF OR TOSS IT. Cant hurt so I do that. BAMM. Light out signal gone AND MY ANTILOCK LIGHT AND TEMS AND CRUISE CONTROL ARE ALL WORKING FINE. Thanks again to all.
