Default Hideaway Headlights

My friend was telling me the other day that his mk3 would look cool if he removed the hideaway headlights and replaced them with some custom revealed ones. What do u guys think, and is there a way, maybe a tutorial or some1 who has done this in the past.Cuz we would really want to see an example.

there would be a lot of custom fabrication and time involved

well...not a lot...but there will be some custom fab needed...like u wont need the motors for the headlights no more...so u can rip those out, all the electronics for that motor can be ripped out....u dont need to redo any body work like the hood or the front bumper if youre planning to make them projectors...shouldnt be too bad if u keep them in the same spot and use some of the same wiring...ive seen it done...but i think its ugllaay

i think since the MKIII's have the pop-up headlights....keep them

it'll look weird without them

That stuff is always a personal preference thing. If you want to try it then you probably need to find a place that sells custom headlight buckets and then fabricate the mounting stuff. With the small headlights that some cars have today you might be able to find something at the junkyard, but it will take some work and it is hard to undo things sometimes.

Good luck with it though and let us know how it works out.
