Default O/D OFF Light Flickers

This is another problem I am having unfortunately.... anyone else had this happen?

I have an 88 supra turbo auto.

Tranny was replaced. Now the O/D OFF light flickers on/off as I drive, and it flashes more rapidly the faster I drive. When I press the button, it works like it should shutting the O/D off, and the light remains solid. But when I press it again, it keeps flashing. But the tranny shifts and everything seems just fine. Is it possible he replaced it with an incompatible tranny ECU or something? Again the tranny is mechanically sound.... that light just blinks and it drives me nuts.

If anyone knows what it is, please let me know!

Thanks.

had this with mine, turned out to be faulty abs sensor/wiring, drive along in a safe area, and JUMP on the anchors. if it pulls up normally, then abs is still fine and it's something else, if theres smoke going everywhere and screeching of tyres, then there's your problem.

wow, what a genius.... my ABS light is on in the dash as well... so it must be the ABS sensor/system.... i'll try your test and look into fixing it...

thanks for the quick and accurate response... this website is the best resource i have ever found!

Any suggestions? 87 NA w/o ABS. O/D light starts flashing after the car's been up to normal op. temp for awhile. Flashes faster in proportion to speed, no set pattern. No codes retained within the diagnostic computer. Flashes the 'all clear' code or sometimes even stops flashing at a stoplight. Nothing is shorting out the test points in the node.

Hey guys this same exact thing is happening to my car right now, anyone got any info on this? I will do the diagnostic test to it this weekend and see if it pulls up anything. The guy above me explained it perfectly!
