In the Landcruiser? Since the factory oil was changed out, its now at 200K with no leaks. It had one from the pan gasket and the side valve cover but c'mon now, its older than I am. I replaced the factory gaskets at about 190000. No more leaks. The most convincing argument should be that the car is 25 years old with 200K and doesn't burn a drop of oil, the block nor head has ever been opened. Everything is factory pistons, rings and cylinder sleves, etc.

In the supra? I got it at 130K and immediately put synth in it. It had a leak prior so i don't know about synth leaking. never heard that before anyways.

I don't think synth contributes to leaks. In my professional opinion (lol) if a car is leaking or burning oil, its a lack of maintenance issue. A gasket that wasn't installed and torqued down right or not sealed with rtv in a sparing yet adequate way is usually the cause of a leak. Cork gaskets also need to be retightened a few times after being replaced. Alot of people over torque and crack them too. 9ft lbs is usually what is recommended, at least most toyota ones.
