In my professional opinion (lol) if a car is leaking or burning oil, its a lack of maintenance issue. A gasket that wasn't installed and torqued down right or not sealed with rtv in a sparing yet adequate way is usually the cause of a leak. Cork gaskets also need to be retightened a few times after being replaced. Alot of people over torque and crack them too. 9ft lbs is usually what is recommended, at least most toyota ones. |
