Jdm engine rev problem
Hi,
Ive recently installed a jdm non turbo engine and have encountered a problem. When the car is in Park, there are no problems red lining the engine but when the car is in drive or reverse the engine only gets upto about 1500 rpm's. Their is a miss upto about 1500 rpm, after that it smoothes out nice. Yesterday was the first time it had ever moved. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks very much |

Sorry...
While I am idling in "Park" their is a noticeable miss fire in the engine. When i begin to accelerate in "Park" the engine seems to be a little rough upto about 1500rpm, after 1500rpm i can continue to accelerate the engine and it will smoothly redline. I had to adjust the throttle linkage to idle smoothly.....(i thought the ECU automatically adjusted the idle speed). Whenever i put the car in "drive" and drove, it would not noticeably accelerate, the car had a max rpm of 1500. Im not really sure what this could be, ive compared this car to my other Supra when i install parts and everything seems to be good. This car did sit outside for 4 years and the engine had 275,XXX miles on it before i bought it and installed the N/A JDM Engine. Ive cleared the exhaust and have never swapped ECU's. Thanks for everyones help! Last edited by Wicked19; 11-07-2005 at 08:26 PM. |

hmm...it might be the ecu...i dunno when i swapped from a 7m to a 1jz...i had the 1jz ecu modified so it would read the speed in mph not kph, and i had it read the rpms differently...it might be the comp...sorry i cant help anymore..i dint have my 7m for that long so i did minimal stuff to it
