open end diff. sucks!!
ok , ive got an 88 N/A and to bad for me, its got an open end diff. and sometimes it really lets me down. i was wonduring how hard or even if posiable it would be to swap the diff. from a other supra with a limited slip or any others that would fit, or if i should just look into purchising an after market one.
thanks -Brian |

Don't quote me on this but I believe the rearends are swapable between the models. I've read the diff to look for is the LSD nonturbo model.
EDIT: This is what I gathered: All differentials are straight bolt up affairs. Any year from any model can be swappable. 86.5-88: 3.9X 89-92: 3.7X NA (sports package): 4.30 Last edited by Bullz_EyE; 11-08-2005 at 11:28 PM. |

^^ but the problem you may have is that the 'new' used LSD diff may be worn out. If it were me, I'd open it up and look into that used one, do a little testing on the bench, and probably rebuild it before installing it.
