You said it MA70, first time's the best
Supras aren't that common around here, even though they have been sold as new just like Corollas etc... Actually sports cars in general are a minority, probably because of high gasoline prices and car taxes. Last year the government had to change the taxation of importing used cars due to the EU, so nowadays every once in a while you might see a Mercedes SLK or Audi TT or whatever passing you by on the road, though Japanese imports are still a minority. The general asking price for example for a '90-92 Supra Turbo sold here in Finland as new is something like 10000-13000? (that's about the same in USD, I think), and in Germany - the country where people usually import cars from - they are in 2000-4000? price range. A little difference, eh? Of course our lovely little government adds tax to that if you bring it here for registering and driving... for a car that age the tax amount might be 3000-4500?... depending on the condition, km's driven etc. (usually they inspect it before deciding how much to charge the poor car fanatic) Plus all the cost from shipping it here... ... And all this leads to a conclusion; You should all be very very happy if you can buy a Supra like that for 5000 dollars or even less and then be able to spend another 5000 to make it go FAST... But that's the way it is, and there's nothing I can do about it, except save save save save and save again for next spring... for then I will have one of those magnificent machines to satisfy my driving needs =D I just needed to tell someone :'(

Yeah well... teaches you patience :I
Right now I really wouldn't like to be living in Iraq or somewhere near it... but now I stray from the topic.

I drive a 3.0 Turbo auto Supra in the UK and i am amazed at what they fetch in finland. I paid ?1000 for my 91 model and most of the guys in the uk forum are paying similar sums at present, although i am looking at a 1990 manual turbo for my wife and that is going for ?375. Definately faster on a drag strip in the auto but slower on take off. Up to 5mph faster if the car is white!

Kevin, I assume "what they fetch" means "what they cost" ...
Yes, we do have the most expensive car prices here than anywhere in the EU. Why are you looking for that 1990 model? Something different in it than other ones? And what do you mean white ones are faster? Is the white paint so much lighter than others that it reduces weight enough or what?
