Ok, after about a week on working on my car I have come to realize that I am not getting a spark on my (1,6) coil back. So, Do you know where the wires go from the coil pack….
Plugs>wires> coil pack>2 wires> clip> and I don’t know where they go form here…. I am POSITIVE!!! It is not the coil pack. I just need to run a new wire.. because I know there is something messed up with it.. Some times it sparks. And some times it doesn’t… so it must be a bad wire someware

When trouble shooting any non-starting vehicle, there's 3 things it needs to start, 1)compression, 2) fuel, 3) spark. Obviously you have fuel and compression. You are either off on the ignition timing and have to check the CPS, or your not getting any spark for some reason, or a combination. That would be my guess. Hope that helps.

I already ran a compression test and got about 180ish on all 6 cylinders. The only thing I am trying to find out is where does he coil pack wires go to…. I took about the passengers side and looked at all the wires and I could NOT find them… Is there where they go… Or did I just miss something.. What does it plug into under the dash.. Ecu, or something else?

Trouble Shooting 1989 Supra Turbo
Alrighty, I have brought a 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo to MI, Whooo. But this is the story so far. OK the body is in perfect condition and same with the interior. It has never seen a winter before. But this is where it gets messy, OK He told me that He put in a bigger turbo from off his friends car because he got a new one and (was running on the stock head gasket). He said it was working fine for a little bit and then he blew the head gasket. So he went out and got a 1.5 MM HKS gasket and put it in there. And he said it won’t start now. He says that when he goes to fire it up. It starts up but back fires like CRAZY and he checked the timing and he said it was all TDC. So what I Am hoping is that because it starts up it will just be something minor. Like mix up of the firing order with the spark plug wires or he has it on the wrong cycle. We had the same problem with my brothers 240SX we dropped a new engine in it and tried to start it up and backfired like crazy and the timing was right and the sparkplugs but it was on the wrong cycle so we fixed that and it fired right up. So, what my question is. What do you guys think I should do to try to fix it. I am having some friends come over Either Fri, or Sat, to work on it. What I am planning on doing is running a compression test, sparkplug wiring order (I did it but I just looked at it quickly before I went inside) so I will need to make a more thorough check on that. And check the timing and see if it is on the right cycle.
Do you guys have anything else I should try….?

And I forgot to mention. I pulled the spark plug wire off of spark plug number 5 I think or 6 not sure. And I looked down and there was a pool of gas around the spark plug.. I could just barley see the top of the plug……..

check the plug wire configuration....sometimes people make dork mistakes and plug it in the wrong place on the coil pack.

or they put the wire in the wrong cylinder.

a pool of gas around the sparkplug???? need to fix that asap...or you will burn!
check the fuel rail for leaks around the line fittings. is it backfiring or missing? or both?
if it starts up, must be something simple...check plugs, wires, leaks, timing, ect. also about the timing...once i installed a cps 180deg out of phase. it would run but the timing was way out and it backfired alot.

gas in the sparkplug well? Shit, you'd see it shooting a stream of fuel from the rail
over the intake cam cover if that were it. I bet it was poured in there to clean out
the oil in the center valley or the plug itself is loose and that cylinder isn't firing.

Ok, I just pulled all the spark plug caps and looked and they ALL had a pool of gas OVER the top of the spark plug in that little hole. I just got the car yesterday… So I don’t think gas is shooting all over the place Cause it would reek of gas. But I soaked up ALL the gas and cleaned the plug areas took like 15 Paper towel squares. But I got it lol. But when I look down. I can see Gas in all of the piston chambers. Like if you shake the car you can c if sloshing around. And it does not look like clean gas at all……. He said it has been sitting for about a month.. But last I remember gas does not go bad that quick…. But I soaked up all the gas. And it smelt like gas, but it was not like an over powering smell of gas.. it smells like it is diluted with water.. or something… but the smell of gas last longer then a month.. so I don’t know. But I have some pics. Coming up in a little but I came inside to update you guys. Got to go take some pics. If I can find some batteries for the camera.
