Possible Security Problem?
I picked up an 86.5 Supra not too long ago and has been my project car for the summer/fall in order to get it stable for next summer. I managed to get a new gas tank put in, along with fixing other small problems and was running like a champ. The other day I went to get in the car after driving it shortly before and none of the interior lights were on. Thought nothing of it and started to drive and then it started to bug me so I turned the car off. After that it never came back on, had to tow it back home, luckily for me it wasn't far.
Right now if I open the doors no lights turn on, no interior lights, nothing. But the red light on the CD Player face plate is blinking and I can turn my hazards on along with my head lights. So the battery is still alright. I'm still getting used to the security system in it so I was wondering if maybe that was it or if anyone has had any experience with something like this before? I'm still new to working on cars but my dad isn't and he didn't seem to know what it was. Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated. Also if you need any more information about the car just let me know, I'm still new to this. Thanks for the help. -eGrim |

One of my friends said something that sounds similar.
He said that for some reason the security system in his mkIII would not let the engine start, so he would get out and close the door, put the key in the door, lock it, unlock it, and the car would start. Hope this helped! |
