Motor swap questions
hi guys, i have a 87 mk3 supra turbo with a bent frame i just bought a 87 mk3 supra non turbo and i want to swap the turbo motor into the n/a supra is this hard at all? and how bout the gauges since it doesnt have a turbo boost gauge thing can i swap that too?
|
Hey
I'm rather new to Supra's myself...but i do know that they are the same motor pretty much, and the swap is no problem, the only difference is the Turbo motor has turbo. The turbo is a 7m-gte and the no turbo is a 7m-ge....same engine, the t stands for turbo. As far as the guages go...i think you have to switch the cluster...but I honestly have no idea on that....anyway have fun :)

Hrm...
Switching the cluster ONLY to get a TurboBoost gauge? Come on! Just buy the gauge you like the most, and place it wherever you want in the car. :)
Or remove the least useful gauge (Voltage of battery IMO, lol) and put a cool turbo boost gauge there =P |
Ive been cruising the web for a long time before I ever been a member of this site and Ive seen plenty of N/A to turbo swaps and it seems not to be a problem besides that gauge problem you speak about.Like it was said before just go buy yourself a gauge you like and put it somewhere creative and functional.
