i wouldn't put the box with it... you have to bash out the tunnel to fit it lol... just use the 5sp that goes behind either the 1jzgte or 7mgte and get an adaptor made for the bellhousing

so when ur cars break where do you send them...
everyone here sends them to us lol
Umm actually you would be crazy to use anything other than the V160 or V161 (the 6 speed box) behind a 2JZGTE. Either that or keep on paying 800 dollars everytime you break the R154.

lmao
dude... the r154 isn't a w58 lol

a friend of mine Graham that owns the croydon mkiv supra races all the time and does 10's down the quarter

and if you do your research you will find a R154 box behind it
and plus they'll handle sweet as on a standard 2j and a modded one... as evident by grahams supra

Ahhh...actually only the 1jz and 7MGTE came out with a R154 behind them. The only W58 in a MkIV Supra was behind the 2JZ-GE(non-turbo) and trust me, the 2JZGTE that you mate is racing will have the six speed behind it..which is the V160 or V161 that i metioned.

lol not logged in again :P

yea i'm not quite sure why he's not using the v series but at least the r154 is proven to some decent horsepower so for those that can't quite afford the getrags they can go for the r154 and still not worry bout breakin it till quite high hp

after reading the article on his car i believe that it came down to simple cost vs. performance. The R154 would have been a shit load cheaper and still been able to support the 350kw that the car was making...besides that it is not HP that kills components its Torque..so I am sure that the R154 will live ok for a while yet...getrag are still an expensive thing to buy..i have yet to see them fall under the 3000 dollar mark, while a good R154 can be picked up for 1200..so yeah save a bit of dosh there
