I know this question was asked but i wanted to put it up here maybe someone will see it and help me out. I know some of you have made custom enclosures for some 6x9's in the front doors. I have an 88 supra and i would appreciate it if someone would tell me how they did or where to get the housing to do that, cuz the 4" aren't doin the job, if i could get some 6x9's in the front it would be great. Help!!

find some housings for a 91+ supra, they fit 6.5" speakers. You won't have to hack up your doors too! Check ebay, they show up now and then.

Yep, as kwnate mentioned, they appear on eBay every once in a while.
Here is where my post becomes useful: My friend told me that he used a Dremel tool to modify his 4" encloser. I did not see his work, but got the sense that he did a good job--he is a handy guy. Just something to consider. I know him from outside of the forums. (Never seen him post.) Too bad he isn't on to make us a write up.

i have 2 12"subs on folded down backs seats facing forward, amp screwed on back of box. two 6x9s with boxes right next to subs(spliced wire and made it long enough to go from origanal box to back seats) and two 3 1/2 in doors(previous owner). pioneer premier hu
also anything aftermarket will sound better

I'd also say dont bother with 6x9s. Splits and a sub will sound a heap better, and easier to find places for and mount. The sub in a box which for me fits to the side of the spare wheel mold in the rear nicely facing the back of the car. Once you have a sub, there is no need for the 6x9s design, you dont need there horribly weak bass or battered high frequencies, splits will give you better sound quality.

ya i agree with jebus, 6x9s are excessive, and dont do what i did (unless thats what you want) cause trust me, the subs take up either the hatch or the back seats, get maybe something small, you can store off to the side and some aftermarket speakers.
