Well...
Well, as I'm still N/A and I'm still wondering what I really want (a guy who has bought and sold 4 other cars in less than a year and half, yeah, no idea of what I want =P), I'm gonna work on it as if I were planning on keeping it N/A.
So I bought a muffler that was on special, and I left the car about 1.5 hours ago at the shop where they do custom exhaust. Doing a 2.5 inch one, as I thought would be fine after reading the "researched exhaust" things in the FAQ. I wouldn't mind having to change in the future, as all of this (muffler and the 2.5 pipings) is costing about 145 $USD. I really wanted to do this quickly because my car has very little mufflers... plus, the previous owner did some work on the back bumper, like a "lip", which makes the muffler even MORE UN-seeable. And I've always seen the muffler as the car's tail, or even more as the car's <certain-part-of-men>... so I didn't want that small pecker on my car =P .. LOL. Also today I should be picking up the center tail light piece, which I left paining (the moulding part). Once I install those too, I shall take new pics, should look quite different from the first pics I posted about 3 weeks ago. |

aCk!
It's so loud now, I hate it. I gotta put a ... "resonator" ? Don't know how you call it in english, but it goes in the middle of the car (sorta) to make it sound less noisy. That'd be another 30 bucks more or less. Oh well, gonna do it tomorrow, coz it's too noisy right now.

That's exactly what you call it. Sometimes they are reffered to as premufflers. I may be mistaken though and there may be a difference between a premuffler and a resonator. May I ask what kind of muffler you had installed?

Sure.
I don't know what kind of muffler it is. I do know it was 2.5", no reductions in the middle, I could see from one end to the other.
It was too loud, so today I had a resonator... fairly cheap, not even 30 bucks. An 18" one, the guy at the shop told me he has had bad experience with 24" ones, they break in the middle as nothing is supporting them, he says. Now it sounds much better, and not as loud, I like it. I also picked up my center piece tail light, which needed paint... I'll try to install the 3 piece tail lights on saturday, it should look kickass, they're the JDM ones (with darker center piece). |
