1ggte afm
Hi there anyone know of a good, higher flow afm for the 1ggte, similar to the lexus one on the 7m? As far as i know the lexus one wouldnt work on the 1g as the 1ggte has a flap type afm (correct me if im wrong).
|
correct
and no replacement afm as of yet one thing you could try to do is find a hks vpc for a 1ggte which eliminates the afm :) |
mm thats what i thought, though im not even sure if they do a vpc for the 1g. Might have a look around, cheers
|
yes hks did make a vpc for the 1ggte.. a friend of mine bought one just recently :)
|
really? do you know what it cost them? it would be great to get rid of the stock afm but not if its gonna cost ridiculous amounts of cash : P
|
www.rhdjapan.com keep checking up there every now and then... that's where we got it from :)
ours was second hand so we got it cheep $145usd... but new ones go for a bit more... but remember patience is a virtue ;) |
ok will do thanks for the help :)
|
seems you are in luck
a complete vpc system ;) http://www.rhdjapan.com/shop/cart.ph...t_detail&p=143 ps. this is for the grey plug ecu i believe tho |
ah sweet how can you tell if you ecu is the one before the change or after? i think my car has undergone an engine transplant before i got it so i have no way of knowing what year the engine is made. Is there a way of telling by looking at the ecu?

Did your friends vpc come with the vehicle specific harness, sensors and sensor harness? if not where did she get the bits from? Ive heard you can actually get by without the 1g harness and just get the thing hardwired into the vehicles harness. I was thinking of just buying a head unit and trying to get the other bits seperately because complete packages seem to be very expenive : (
|
it is possible to hard wire it in.. as for the actual wiring diagram i'm not too sure
you will need to find the 1ggte chip tho.. i haven't got any tips for that one unfortunately my mates one came with the pressure sensor & harness's but not the air intake temp switch.. that you can buy from www.hksusa.com good luck :) |
