Default map ecu troubles

hey guys, i'm a newbie here, so go easy on me if i sound like a jackass. ok so i got a map ecu to replace my vpc, gcc and fcon setup. the reason is because the knobs on the vpc gcc and fcon are way to easily thrown out of whack by overzealous passengers (i've had to completely reset too many times.) anyway, the map ecu is installed, but the car still runs like crap. i've had some trouble finding a decent rpm signal due to discrepancies in the manual, and i have no clue where the BARO outpun goes.
btw the car is a 1990 turbo model

i'm assuming you went via the wiring diagram

well i went thru that pdf... and i'm not sure exactly what they mean by baro
i would have thought that the main airflow signal but then they also refer to a vkv wire which is also the afm wire

i'll have a look around further and see what i can find for ya

yeah, i went by the diagram in the book, and by the one in the factory shop manual, too. i'm not sure at all where to go from here. does anyone here have one of these?
