1) 1st of all it's a tubular exhaust manifold, headers are reserved for NA's.
2) It would behoove you to study the manual and do research before getting into a project of this magnitude.
3) Lable and bag bolts. Hoses as well. Attention to detail is important.
4) When your head is ready to come off, don't forget about the vacuum lines connected to the VSV on the bottom of the lower half of the intake manifold.
5) There's also a ground strap also connected to the back of the head that can be easily over looked when the head is ready to be removed.
6) Be prepared to replace gaskets that are not included with a "Head Gasket Set".
7) Be prepared to buy Toyota preformed hoses.
8) When you start reassembly, it would be wise to also put the EGR Valve on when you reinstall the lower half of the intake manifold.
9) Use antiseize on exhaust bolts.

and don't forget that with putting on the stainless manifold that its not the same flange as the ct26 so you will need to put on an aftermarket turbo & custom downpipe or get an adaptor flange for the ct26

don't forget to buy brand new head bolts and torque them to 72ft lbs (if stock toyota) clean the block surface (if going with stock toyota head gasket) and make sure the head isn't warped/pitted etc

i'm sure there's more but i can't think at the mo

Bullz-eye, what were the gaskets that need to be replaced were u referring to.

Bullz_EyE 01-13-2006 03:13 PM

Most fuel line banjo gaskets. Cold start injector, the air injection thing on the left side of the intake plenum (although this dosen't necessarly have to be removed), possibly the EGR gaskets, & turbo oil line banjo gaskets. You may also need a CPS cover gasket. When you buy a head gasket kit, just check to see how complete it is.

EDIT: Good call giRLie. http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...ons/icon14.gif

well youd be better off just leaving it alone unless you can afford it...lol. also....make sure to label and take pictures of as much as possible so you dont get messed up when you goto resassebmle. expecially vaccum lines...they can be a pain.
