What's a used R154 tranny worth?
I'm parting out a 88 Supra and was wondering how much the R154 tranny with ~130k miles would be worth on average. I searched and didn't find much to go on so I thought I would ask you guys who are more familiar with the price of used Supra parts.
Thanks! |

R154 turbo manual tranny's:
Seen them go for $200 on eBay. Seen them go for $500 also. I sold mine for $300, then I gave the bellhousing to the buyer since he gave me $1100 for parts. I would just set it at $350 and stay firm. I don't like to haggle. I would just rather set prices as a fair going rate and go from there. In my opinion, that is the best way to do it because that saves time for everyone, instead of having so many bid and feeling everyone out. Eh, I would do the haggling on high priced items, but I just don't think it is worth it for lower priced items. So there you go, some opinions and pricing and selling

Ok, thanks! I thought the offer for $70 was way low but I wasn't sure what it was worth on average. If I don't get a decent offer on it soon I'll just stick it on ebay.
Edit: If anyone reading this is looking for one, I'll take less than the $350 suggested but I'm not giving it away either. Especially considering the work involved to remove it, strap it to a pallet and hauling it to a freight terminal. Thanks again. Last edited by shawn87gta; 01-14-2006 at 09:49 PM. |

LOL
You got low balled! 70 dollars, heheheh. I would charge $70 just to get it out of the car. I don't think you will get the most you can out of eBay. I would list it on the forums for that item.

Yeah, $70 is chump change IMO. I told the guy I thought the offer was way low, but to give him credit you never know how low someone will go unless you ask. I'm not a Supra guy, what other forums than this would you recommend listing the parts on? I have a bunch of good stuff on this car that I'm willing to sell for a good deal, but not as much interest as I'd hoped for here.
