New To the Forums

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forums as well as Toyotas in general. I found a beautiful Silver MKIII Turbo 5-Speed. The only problems are a worn turbo, I am planning a rebuild or to replace it with another stock turbo for now. I am also looking for basic information about the car as well. My Current Driver is an '89 Nissan 240sx with a built up N/A "stock KA" Any insight anyone has to offer would be helpful...

About your car:
What do you mean you have a worn turbo? excessive shaft play? (Just want to be sure.)

As far as this car goes, many seem to lose oil due to old gaskets and leaks.

The biggest thing to watch out for with these cars is the common blown head gasket (BHG).

By the worn turbo I do mean extended shaft play, the guy I bought it from said that he had it rebuilt but the same problem yet again arose, the turbine seems like the bearings are worn, it moves like it would say if it were unbalanced and the motor smokes from the exhaust (black smoke from what i am told I havent actualy driven or even cranked the car, i have heard it run and it was running when it came into my uncles hands at his auto shop and for the price parting it out would have been worth the buy.) Thank you
