Default Buying one today..

I am buying a 1988 Supra today actually..
:-)

I have never had one before but I did enjoy driving it.
Red, Auto, Power sunroof from ASC, grey cloth interior. Power everything.

I am curious to know where to get spoiler for the back and headers.. maybe a muffler but I like deep throaty sounds instead of winey ones that come from hondas - so I am a bit hesitant to get one that does not sound beefy - if that is possible from a 6cyl.

Other than that I would want to replace the wheels - tires are new.

a supra is a wonderful car to have. as long as you check it out and look for any problems before hand. ask a lot of questions about the car. if and when you get it. look into replacing hoses first. vacuum hoses, coolant hoses. because the old ones are very brittle, and its seriously a pain in the ass to be driving and have one blow on you. make sure everything is in top notch. start it up, listen for abnormal sounds from the engine, rod knocks etc when you rev up or test drive it.

as for headers and spoilers and muffler

headers- i have found that ebay is the best place to look for those. they sell a good brand called OBX

spoiler- im not too sure on where you could get one, look at local junkyards etc. (i live in the same area as you, so i know there are loads of auto wreckers around this area. mitchell island, annacis island etc.) also try ebay

muffler- depending on the direction you wanna go. if you want a full straight through system, you can change the system from headers down. look in the faqs of this site and they list a bunch of sites that sell parts for our cars.
my friend got me a dual tip muffler from NAPA when i first got my car. it was like $350, but he got his discount on it so i paid something like 120. It has a really nice deep sound to it.

Sounds like my '88 MKIII: red exterior, gray interior, also red...Supras do come loaded, so they all would have power everything (some dont have a power driver's seat though).

As far as the spoiler and getting parts, I have traded many many parts with people on the forums. I like it much better than by eBay, and I like eBay much better than going to the junkyards.
If I were you, I would put up a WTB thread or check out who is parting a car/selling a wing...just so happens I am selling both stock type wings (the one pc & the 3 pc).

BTW, you mentioned that it is an '88 but the front bumper & the mirrors (frome the looks of the mirrors) are the '89-92 style.
If that car is stock and never has had the conversion, I would say that it is an '89-90, because the '91-92 models had the same color moldings as the exterior.

If it really is an '88, then someone changed the bumper and mirrors to the newer style...along with the grills, indicators, front lip, and fog lights.
