you guys arent talking about clinton, md are you?
2jz swap- pain in the ass splicing harnesses, need mounts and bellhousing made, pricey 1jz swap- need ecu, harness, bellhousing, mounts 7m- do i need to explain? without a doubt, the 2jz would kick major ASS, if you could afford it. if you want a swap the 1jz would be a lil easier. personally though id stick with the 7m.

The problem is the 2JZ is a twinturbo. It takes up alot more space and needs alot more modification to fit. The 1JZ is more of a cousin than a distant cousin from what i've read. Never done the swap myslef but there are alot more people here with 1JZs than with 2s.

im trying to get an idea of wat to do but from wat i read and seen the 7m is crap no point in trying to get any hp out of a 400hp max 7m when the thing will just shit the bed at 300hp, 7m dont rank with the jz's enough said, also what everyone keeps saying that you need to mod the supra to fit the jz's but no one will say what you have to mod????

ya the potential of the jz series engines is greater than that of the 7m, but dont toss it aside yet. with the money youd spend for the 2jz and parts to get it up to the hp you want, you could also go the other way with the 7m and get the hp up there too, provided all precautions are kept to keep from blowing it up. but thats beside the point. if you dont really want the 7m, then go with the 1jz, its cheaper than the 2jz, and not to mention alot easier to swap in. this swap is more popular so there will be more info on it too.
