Think my stock BOV just died
How can you tell?
used to be able to hear the phssssss (although not loud) before, but now its hardly audible (if at all) I hear the bosch bov is the way to go? will it sound like the stock one? or is it silent? Where on earth would i find a bosch blow off valve??? (im in New zealand) |
You can order them online, I think..
Ebay. And I haven't had a good experience with Bosch equipment, personally. Had a Bosch BOV on a Cavalier, and the can rattled loose(I don't recall if it created a pressure leak, though I think it did), and I have a Bosch brute cordless hammer drill. And its been in the shop for repairs far to often. Most recently it actually exploded. |
check all your vacume lines.
you can take the BOV off and try to blow through it, if it blows air out the other side, its toast. if it checks out ok, look for turbo leaks in the IC system, or even excessive turbo shaft play...?? |
having trouble locating the factory blow off
where is it exactly? it probably stareing me in the face!
Damn this car |

this thing.. ;)
seems like a lot of people like the big bosch bov. i run a ssqv type.. if you vent them to the atmosphere, then they make noise, (whhooosh) if you plumb it back into the accordian hose itwill be quiet.. |
