Yes, It will bolt up. Not sure if the clutches and flywheels are the same? But you can use the w58 tranny on a gte no problem. From what I hear they can hold 300-350whp before they will start crying. Of course your stock clutch won't hold that much.

I think the clutches are different. Should check into that. I know all of the master/slave cylinders are different. Puller/pusher, what not.

Same situation as the OP...soo...how much WHP can the W58 trans take? Will it be ok with the boost from the stock 7mgte? I'm getting a turboed parts car and switching the engines...just not coming with the r154 trans. If w58 can handle, all i got to do is put in a better clutch/flywheel? Can anyone point me to a good brand? Im on a budget of less than $500 for upgrades...

clutch flywheel and pressure plate are different and not to mention clutch bolts are different. i dont know how much the w58 will handle but ill let you know if it holds a fully built 7mgte at about 500rwhp. i got a stage 4 clutch and pressure plate off ebay for about 200 bucks which is rated for about 500 hp. so we shall see...

Nate already answered this... They'll generally take 350 to 400RWHP before they break, keeping it limited to 300 to 350RWHP is the safe limit (as long as it was a very healthy transmission to begin with).
