an 89
alright guys, im new here and im in the process now of getting an 89 supra Non-turbo. its an upgrade from my corolla. it has a 155k miles, and is in great shape from what i hear from the lady who owns it. The only problem is AC and radio. How much would it cost to fix up the whole AC unit. Im also wondering what i can do to get some more HP in it. I was planning on swapping the engine but i dont really know. I want a turbo supra. This car is 750$ so i couldnt pass it up. especially since the lady only drives it on perfect days, and keeps it in her garage. Let me know what i can do to get some HP. Also can anyone tell me where to get the performance parts like INTAKE and EXHAUST. i can find a borla, but i dont really like that exhaust.
thnks. -tyler |

If it runs and looks good, that's a great price. The a/c might be cheap, or it might be expensive, just depends on whats wrong. If the compressor is bad, you will be looking at about $6-700 total.
Start a new thread after you get the car and have it checked out and estimated. Be sure to have the shop write down exactly what they think will get it going. I do a/c work, so I can give some advice after I hear what they say, and quote. Read the FAQs section thread on 'exhaust systems researched'. You can't do a whole lot with the intake, but you can do a K&N cold air system. After you get it, plan on spending some $$ on preventive maintenance. Like....all hoses and belts, flush cooling system, oil change, trans and diff oil change, power steering oil change. Check the FAQs section for some proceedures.
