Hey my name is nick and I have a 89 toyota supra turbo its an auto which kinda sucks but I got it for 1800usd with boost control, bov, kn filter etc and its in decent condition. but come to find out I had a rod knock and then I drove my supra all weekend before I could get it to a mechanicand it was a crank shaft bearing and it snapped scored the crank so the crank is junk. so I am going to get a jdm motor I want to know if its worth it. I am thinking about buying a motor from jarcoinc.com and spending 2070usd he wants shipped with hks head gasket installed and arp head studs so I was wondering if you think its worth it. it is a complete long block and it has a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty but not on the head gasket if I get the metal one and if i get just new toyota head gasket its like 1800 shipped and I get the warranty on the head gasket it too so what do you think ????? I am going to be paying a mechanic to do the swap if you could help I'd appreciate it
Thanks, Nickjavascript:emoticon('')

well to be honest this depends on what you have planned for the car... do you plan to get 400rwhp or just a daily driver with basic upgrades

if just the daily driver with basic upgrades (300rwhp).. then a stock hg & arps will be fine... check that they torque it to 72ft lbs and you shouldn't have a problem... for the added safety of a 12mth warranty on the hg i would take that path

you can always blow up your engine 2years later or something and learn how to do the mhg yourself hehe... there's plenty of help around and if you do decide to blow it up :P make sure you don't take any shortcuts when building the engine
