CPS install procedure w/o reference mark!
Ok I am an idiot.
Pulled the cam position sensor and forgot to mark it at #1 TDC. So, what is one to do? I have the engine at #1 TDC. What is next? |

http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/librar.../ig/IG_24.html tsrm sais to set it to tdc on compression stroke and then align the drilled mark(90 degrees away from the pin) with the groove on the housing and just insert it straight in and time it with a timing light |

Works for me. THANKS.
BTW - If anyone was wandering... I changed the head gasket on this my 87 turbo and it was a heck of a lot easier then everyone lead me to believe. My advice... Throw out the book and use your noggin (except when you need to mark the CPS). Thanks again.; |
