i'm pretty sure the question has been asked but i can't find the answers anywhere. what are the differences between the turbo and non-turbo supra models? are the engines identical minus the turbos? is the tranny the same? same gear ratios? i'm guessing the ecu is obviously diff and i would think that compression on the motor is probably diff.
how hard is it to swap a 7MGTE into a non-turbo supra? is if direct bolt in? wiring harness plugs in? and plug in new ecu? what about suspension and body wise, were there any differences beside the turbo emblem? |

well as far as the body is concerned they are identical
the engines is just the obvious... compression is higher on the 7mge, different pistons, auto trannies i would assume are the same but manual trans diff, 7mge has w58 whereas 7mgte has r154 gear ratios also differ i would think but i haven't really investigated it too much 7mgte swap has been done plenty ![]() ![]()
