dash lite
hey, i have an 86 n/a 3.0i supra 5spd, evry now n then when im thrashing it a light comes on the dash. its the little amber light right of the door warning light on the dash and has a couple lines behind the car... can any1 tell me what it mean?????? cheers

Yes.
That one means you have a bad bulb, or something among those lines.
I've heard that it works by measuring the TOTAL amount of current drawn, I think, so any "rusty" contacts for the bulbs or anything would make it light up. Also, using bulbs with different W than stock, would also trigger it, even if they all work. There is a "yellow box" behind your rear-left tail lights. Sometimes it fails, and wont allow you to use your break lights (happened to me). One can by-pass it simply, and not use that box, but then the light in the dash will be permanently lit. I got another box for $8 or so from eBay (on a side note, a guy on this forums once said he paid $200 for it from Toyota, LOL!), and now my break lights work, BUT, the light STILL lits up when I hit the breaks for the first time! ARGH! I noticed that the box I bought was slightly different from the one I had. I had a yellow one, while the one I bought was kinda peach. Well, at least my tail lights work.. But I hate having that thing lit up in the dash all the time =(
