Default Brioek fan, help me!

The other day i was driving down a little 25 road (going 25) and my car started making a horrible grinding noise for a second or too, and i pulled over, and it was shaking at idle. i opened the hood and found that either my shroud broke and broke the fan, or vice versa. either way i need a new shroud, fan, and this little valve in that picture that got broken off at some point. What does that valve do? i took the fan off and balanced it myself with a go-kart wheel balancer, but should i just plug buth vaccum lines or hook them together. i was also windering if a small block chevy fan would fit on there...i have a few of those.

Get a new fan, fan shroud and sensor. Used will work fine too.. You can connect the two vacume lines together for now, untill you get the new sensor installed. Just my oppinions..

Sounds good to me too. Check ebay, that is where I got my last shroud and I have seen fans there too. But you could do away with all that and put on a good electric fan with manual sensor. Just another option.

what is that sensor/valve thing called? im sure it just empties the charcola canister so im not to worried about it, but i would like to replace it. also what is a good electric fan? i saw the flexalite ones for 400 something dollars, a bit out of my budget at the moment.

I put a Hayden electric on mine 3 years ago. Also used hayden thermo switch/ relay kit to make it come on automatically. I added a switch on the dash to manually turn it on when I want.

$65 for the fan, $45 for the relay kit.

The broken vacuum switch is called a Thermo Vacuum switch. Junk yard is best price.
