Turbo selection
Hey guys, after some major ovehualing, like new forged internals and a aem ecu and all that good stuff i would like to put a much larger turbo on my 7mgte, but i cannot decide which one, First i was gunna go for the to4b but i dont think this will cut it and id rather not modifie the car twice? im looking to get about 720 whp on 92 gas? but i need a turbo that can handle a wet or directport shot of nos, (just incase) the nos is for back up, and mainly just for show, im not a huge fan of it. Not against it, just not crazzy about it. Anyway, i thought about the T72 fron turbonetics (duh) but i dont think it wiill mount without some custome headers and what have you, so id rather just buy a turbo that had equipment already made for it to suport a 7mgte application that can run 700whp plus an ocashional nos shot to take it up to 800-1000whp without some crazzy minimum booste requirements.... any ideas?

First, its nitrous or NO2 lol. I hate it when people call it NOS. NOS is a company. Might as well call is Zex as well. Lol. But theres a turbo that can handle 700hp, not sure if it can hold a big shot of NO2 like that. Its the GT3540R. Have you already built up this engine? What mods do you have/plan on doing?
|
heh oops
sorry no2 it is? well right now not much im pushing about 370hp with mods like , booste controller, turbo timer, match ported the air ways, obviously 12 psi booste, n/a cams, racing chip, all new hosing, referbished head, theres some more but i cant remember its mostly bolt on stuf...., id like to buy a second 7mgte that way i can work on it without suffering downtime on my fav car :-P. i plan to go with a .04 over bore with forged pistons and conecting rods, rebalance crank, 1mm over bore on valves with dueal string titanium retainer set up a carbone composite drive shaft, new tranny (tips on that would be nice too, looking for a tough 5 speed manual). 4 inch downnpipe 100 mm exhaust (titannium) 70-90mm throttle boddy 1000cc injectors, 255lph fuelpump, new oil pump haha, a top of the line booste controller, nos no2 system, wow these so much, thats all i can think of for now. over the next year as ive said id like to get the new engine and the parts togeather theres more style stuff that i didnt list... i also have a 1995 ford explorer and a new 2006 honda element exlp, but the supra is by far the favorite. After driving it everything else is like driving a stick of butter over a hot frying pan.

i don't mean to sound rude, but that's alot of money to be throwing at your car at such a young age. are your parents cool with that?
if you want to push 700+rwhp just go to www.7mpower.com and do exactly what the top guy did to his car. good luck, be safe, and have fun. |
You'll need way more fuel than a 255lph fuelpump can provide, and you'll need a bigger turbo than a GT3540. You'll also need about $20 grand. Is this a street car or a strictly drag car? Any thing over 600whp your going to need slicks... Build it up to 500whp, thats more than enough to wrap it around something. 1000whp... Why?
