Default Distributor Circuit Problems

Okay, I just swapped in a JDM engine and the thing has been giving me difficulty left and right, it seems. The other day, it would crank, fire, and run, but misfiring all the while til it died. I changed out the plugs, made sure the timing was set right, realigned the distributor, and put it all together. Tried it again, this time it cranked, but no fire. I did an EFI diagnostic and it gave me Code 12:

'No 'NE' or 'G' signal to ECU within two seconds after engine has been cranked.'

It says to check the circuit, distributor itself, starter circuit, or ECU.

I did the checks on the igntion sections... everything I had failed though. Coil, pickup coils, and ECU resistance. I only was able to get a resistance value on the coil - .6 ohms, outside the norm. The pickup and the ECU, I got open circuit. I think that may be the problem, but why would it be working just the other day, it hadn't been moved or run since?

Suggestions?

Okay, minor update.

After consulting TSRM and Haynes more closely...

The coil is fine. .6 ohms is within acceptable range. I'm working my way down the Haynes list and my high-tension cord has failed. 28.3k ohms, over the 25k, so perhaps that is why I am not getting any spark. I'll keep y'all posted.

Default Coils...

Turns it that it was due to my pickup coils, actually. The ground coil somehow got destroyed, so I am looking at a new distributor. That would explain the troublecode...
