I have to get a new Cat, and I hear that the Magnaflow cat is the way to go. What is the stock piping size for the exhaust system? 2.5? Also, does anyone know of good stores that sell the cat for a good price? Im in Canada so its gonna cost me a bit more for it, so Im looking for a good store online, but i cant seem to find one.
86.5 NA |
yo, go to napa, order a stock cat....then knock out all the insulation/honeycomb crap....thats what has been done to mine, sounds great...and everyone behind u can smell un-burnt fuel
|
^^^Thats the way to go...^^^
|
take it out
i live in van to and im running a 3in back with a test pipe and went through aircare this way and passed with flying colors, loud but had everyone in the aircare center staring it was pretty cool
|
So I should just go with a stock cat instead of getting a magnaflow one? I think the stock inlet and outlets are 2.5, or am I wrong?
why would you knock out the honeycomb insulation? I thought the insulation filtered out the emissions. |
if u have to go through emissions then don't knock out the cat...i didn't know you lived in van...they are anal about emissions aren't they
if i had the money, i'd go with the magnaflow... |
just a little pointless to buy a NEW cat and gut it....how bout juss gettina test pipe? ;-) if anythin high flow cat...dont gut shit thats just ghetto....
|
yea I live in Van, and I just went through emissions the other week. and the scores were worse than the previous year. So its time for a new cat. Im going to get the magnaflow one, i have heard good opinions about it.

You buy a new cat and gut it because in the US if the Highway patrol pops his head under your car and sees a test pipe he'll either cut you a fix it ticket if hes a nice guy or he'll impound your car.

yea im gonna go with the magnaflow one. gotta find somewhere that accepts paypal haha...the credit card is maxed out :p
