Wiseco pistons... (interesting stuff)
i was browsing through www.summitracing.com today looking for some go fast goodies. i ran across this.
http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...232+115+400007 look at the lower set of pistons part#WS-K613M83. wiseco forged pistons with rings, and it says "PISTON SET OF 8". that's eight pistons for $566.99. if one were to order 3 sets of forged wiseco pistons part# WS-K613M83, you'd have enough pistons for four 7mgte's. 566.99*3=1700.97 1700.97/4= $425.24 so that would turn out to be $425.24 each set of pistons & rings if you were to get four people on the deal. I have not called them to confirm if that is a typo or not. nor do i want to... i'd rather call them and just order three sets of those pistons. then split them with the other guys. don't give them the opportunity to say,"oops, that's a typo". maybe somebody here with alot of trust in the MKIII communtiy can orginize everybody's money and call and place orders according to how many people want in. if they do tell you it's a typo then nevermind. well? anybody have any ideas? or maybe just buy a set and keep two pistons for back up just incase you burn a hole through a piston. if there was any fitment problems with these pistons you couldn't return them. one buyer wouldn't get the nifty package the pistons come in. the time it would take for me to sell them and get them off my hands. not many people on Supra related forums knows who i am, so i doubt they would buy from me. they would think it was some sort of scam. know what i mean? that's why i was suggesting someone in the Supra community that we all know and trust step foward and do this for us. but of course that person would probably be in the market for forged pistons to begin with so he/she isn't just wasting their time. i would definately buy a set from you, so that would leave two more people that would have to join in. i sure two others would chime in and buy them. just remember two things: 1. correct me if i'm wrong but 83mm is stock bore. if your block needs any over-boring to clean things up then these piston wouldn't work. (i think) 2. the price would be $425.24 plus shipping to the other three buyers cause the oringinal buyer would have to ship them to you. Summit has free shipping on this item, but i believe they charge $9.50 handling fee for your order. don't know if that's per order or per item purchased. you'd have to ask. http://www.summitracing.com/customer...61&p_topview=1 |
