More Boost Feels GOOD!
Last night I used the "spacers on the wastegate actuator bracket" trick that I learned here to jack up the boost on my 1988 Supra. Instead of washers I drilled out a couple of 1/4" thick nuts and slipped them over the 2 bolts.
What a difference! Looks like I'll have ~12 lb. boost at my 1,000' altitude. I've run it up to ~10-11 so far and there is a BIG difference over the 7 (measured) stock. Looks like my turbo is still in good shape. Next thing I'll do is take a big die grinder to the inside of the exhaust elbow and enlarge it a bit. Then I'll figure out what to do with the cats. Here's hoping my HG (replaced before, I think) stays good. The stock bolts are tight.

I've been thinking about eliminating the cat that's right near the turbo and also using some kind of spring loaded "cut-out" before the rear cat. Shouldn't be too hard to get spring that keeps the bypass/dump closed until the boost comes in.

I see that the Mark IV TT has ~11.5 lb boost and ~300 HP. So what approx. HP will a Mark III make at 11.5? What differences are there besides the twin turbos?
