White Smoke
I usually drive my car daily so I rarely have this problem, but today I started it up after not driving it for about two days and it had a very hard time starting. But as soon as it did fire up nice, I looked out my passenger side window and saw a BIG cloud of white smoke fly by (a bit windy today). I find this problem occuring at random times, but usually the smoke isn't that bad and it's always white smoke. After I noticed this problem occuring I also noticed the difficulty in starting the car itself. Another thing that may help explain is that after the car is started and I add a little gas, it wants to choke and die. Most of the time I save it by reving the engine up a little higher than idle, but it wants to die sometimes even after that. Timing perhaps?

You need to find out if ita coolant thats making the smoke. Coolant coating the 02 sensor will have a negative effect on fuel mixture. Too much coolant in a cylinder can cause hydo-lock, or not allow the fuel mix to fire.
There may other, unrelated problems causing the idle problem.
