86.5 swap
ok i plan on doing a 1jzgtte swap into my 86.5 supra. is it possible to do this wihtout many complications. i have found a 1jz which comes with motor, ecu, wiring harness, all required cables, distributor, a/c, complete intake manifold, power steering pump, all brakets and sensors, and auto tranny. the price is $1,100 plus shiping is this a good deal. is it even worth it to swap to a 1jz or should i just put in a 7mgte. i curently have a N/A. thanks in advance

From what i've read, it is indeed possible. However, you may want to have a look at this site for details: http://www.supras.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=33&Itemi d=49

From what I've heard, the swap will cost 3500-5000 on average. Also Its a 1jz-gte, not gtte. You have to modify the dash harness. You need to know which type of car the motor came out of, The oil pan on some are different. New powersteering lines, motor mounts. Lots of work but many have done it!

i think a 1jz-gte is a big upgrade from a 7m-gte it seems like a good deal and yea it might cost alot to do the swap. its possible GOOD LUCK!
