cost?
I did a search on the forums and found that to change a BHG on a turbo supra is around 1700?? I was just wondering if that would include a water pump and timing belt change? And also is there anyway for me to lower the cost of the job without having to do it myself because I'm not too capable around fixing a BHG and would probably make things worst. Thanks.

Sorry to tell you, but this is an expensive fix. It's mainly labor because it takes a lot of time to take all the crap off and on again. TOok me about 14 hours, I know that is a bit much compared to a mechanic. Expect about 8-10 hours worth of labor minimum.
That price probably includes water pump and such, but I doubt they are toyota parts. |

Water pump & timing belt are generally NOT included in a BHG job on 7Ms.
That price would include a valve job, and pressure testing the head, and milling the gasket surface. Stick to a regular headgasket for this type of work. Metal gasket should only be used when the block is out and gasket surface is milled to a very fine finish. (for high HP people). Plan on useing ALL new hoses to.

OEM gasket set.
Check this.....
http://www.thepartsbin.com/repsite/l...t~reparts.html I used this set. Its made by Ishino, of Japan. I researched out gasket set for a long time before I did my own BHG job. This company has been the main OEM supplier to Toyota, Nissan, Mazda etc. forever. The gasket has gone thru a few improvements since the original. Surface prep it very important !!! Some other company also buys this set from Ishino, and packages it in their own. Can't remember name, think it starts with a 'C'. So if you order the set, and the package says something else on it, it still Ishino inside.
